Sometimes tasks will need to be moved from the Project they were created in to another more relevant project. This guide will walk you through the different ways to do this, depending on what you need.
Moving A Single Task
To move a single task between projects select the task you’d like to move. Click edit in the top right of the task panel. Once the task panel is open, click on the ‘Project’ field. Start typing the name of the project to generate a list. Choose the appropriate project, then save. The task will shift over to its new project.
You can also drag and drop a task between projects from within any view that can be organized by project. These would be the ones you see in My Tasks: flagged, subscribed, delegated, and unassigned. This only works for projects within the same team, so make sure to move the project first.
Moving Tasks in Bulk
This is available any place where your tasks can be organized by project (see above). To select a range of tasks at once just hold Shift and click the first and last task you’d like selected. Once you have them all selected, drag and drop from one project section to another.
You can also utilize the split view in Projects to move tasks around. Open the project that houses the tasks you’d like to move. In the top right select the ‘Split’ view to have this project moved into a panel on the right. Now select the project you’d like to move these tasks to from the project dashboard.
The same as above then applies: bulk select the tasks you want to move using shift+click, then drag and drop to the new project.
FYI: If you move a repeating task Flow will show you a prompt to confirm where future copies of the moved task should be created. Choose yes to have them move to the new project in the future, or hit no for them to be created in their original project.
