What is Flow X?
In early 2019, we set out to reimagine Flow. We wanted to take everything we've learned helping hundreds of thousands of teams complete millions of tasks and use that foundation to create the best tool for the future of work.
The culmination of that work is an all-new version of Flow that we call Flow X.
In Flow X, we're introducing an all-new design. Over 100 improvements make the things you do most often faster and easier than ever. New features help you prioritize work and find what you need in the moment. And Chat brings powerful communication tools — including channels, direct messaging, and group conversations — that help you work together from anywhere and easily turn discussions into actionable next steps.

When is Flow X shipping?
After more than 6 months and 24 releases in Beta, we're making Flow X the default version of Flow on Wednesday, September 16th. After that date, anytime that you log into Flow you'll be using Flow X. But as a current customer if you're not ready to make the move just yet, no worries. We're keeping the old version of the app through at least the end of the year.
Can I continue to use the old version of Flow?
Yes. We know how disruptive change can be — and there's been plenty of it in 2020. So we want to give you as much time as possible to adjust and fall in love with Flow X.
All current customers will be able to access the old version of Flow until at least the end of this year. To do this, all you'll need to do is open the main menu in the top-left corner of the app and click "Switch to Old Flow".
Will I lose access to any features? And will my plan, subscription, or pricing change?
Absolutely not. Nothing about your features, pricing, or plan will change with this transition. And if you find that you've lost access to any features, or have any other concerns, simply reach out to help@getflow.com. We're here to help.
That said, we encourage you to check out the new pricing and plans that we released earlier this year. We introduced a third plan for teams, so you have more flexibility and price points to choose from when switching to Flow. We added tiered discounts to our annual plans so you'll save more (up to 44% off) each year when you pay yearly. And we introduced a new (super low) price point for individuals — so it's now more affordable than ever to use Flow for all of your tasks and priorities. You can learn more and compare those plans at getflow.com/pricing.
What's on the roadmap and what's next after Flow X?
Great question! Flow X introduces dozens of our most requested features over the years including Due Times, Task Priority, support for importing tasks, more powerful support for tags, and the revival of Chat. But we're far from done and will continue to ship weekly updates as move forward.
You can always submit feature requests at feedback.getflow.com. You can also view feature requests submitted by other customers and upvote any that you'd like to see in Flow X.
Our near-term focus will be on continuing to improve some of the foundational elements of Flow X — specifically the Home, Updates, and Calendars tabs. We're also working on a completely reimagined version of our iOS app to bring that to parity with Flow X apps for desktop and web.
If you have other ideas, please share them at feedback.getflow.com so that other customers can see them and vote on them. And please, check out and upvote features submitted by others that you'd like to see in Flow X as well.
As a team, should we all transition to Flow X at the same time?
Ideally yes. Not only does Flow X include hundreds of improvements throughout the app, it also includes powerful new features like task priority, due time, channels and messaging, and so much more. But all of these new improvements and features are only available in Flow X.
Which means that if part of your team continues to use Old Flow while others switch to Flow X that you may encounter some awkwardness. If a team member creates a task in Flow X and assigns it a due time — so it's due at Noon on Friday for instance — you won't be able to see that time in Old Flow. The same goes for tasks creates in Flow X that include a task priority.
So please keep that in mind. The choice is yours, but we highly encourage you to make the move to Flow X as a team as soon as you can. Flow X will continue to improve rapidly based on your feedback every single week — so it will only get better and better.
