With this simple, yet powerful, admin-level feature, you can quickly arm your entire organization with Flow’s easy-to-use chat tool or disable it to simplify your navigation bar.
Organization owners/admins can toggle the entire Flow chat feature on or off with just a click. To do so, click your avatar in the top left corner of the app to access the global menu. Then, select Administration > Organization Settings from the dropdown.
On the Organization Settings page, scroll down to the “Flow Chat” field. Next to it, you will see a button. To enable chat for your team, toggle the button into the on position. To disable chat for your organization, click again to toggle off. Once you’ve made your selection, scroll to the bottom of the view and click the “Save Settings” button to apply the change.
When switched on, the Chat icon will appear to the right of the Calendars icon in the global navigation. When switched off, the Chat icon will no longer appear in the navigation bar and will not be accessible to anyone on the team. This will not delete any chat channels or private messages, but will simply hide them, including from search results. If you or a team member need to temporarily access chat messages in the future, you can always toggle the setting back on in Organization settings.
