Flow Solo is a new version of Flow that’s tailor-made for all those enterprising individuals who work on their own.
With Flow Solo, you’ll get all the power of a team plan, but tailored to needs of an individual. We’ve removed a lot of the team-specific functionality to make way for deeper focus, steadier progress, and clearly outlined priorities. There are some key differences between Solo and our existing Team plans, however, so read on to learn more about them and to help decide which one is right for you.
Can I work with a team on a Solo plan?
No, as the name suggests this plan is for those riding solo, so the plan is capped at one user by default. If you want to add additional members to your account, whether one or one hundred, you’ll need to upgrade to a Team plan first. You can do so by going to your billing preferences here.
Does Solo have premium features like priority and due times?
Yes! Flow Solo offers access to many of Flow’s premium features including due time, priority, start dates, tags, and basic integrations, such as Slack and Harvest. In that sense it most closely resembles the Plus plan, without the team-specific features. We believe that just because you’re working on your own doesn’t mean you’re not a power user.
Which “team features” does Solo not support?
By “team features,” we mean any feature that takes more than one person to benefit from it. That includes:
- Chat
- The chat tab is hidden by default to streamline the navigation bar and ensure all the views are serving Solo users’ specific needs. While you could chat to yourself, it usually serves the greatest purpose in the company of others.

- Notifications
- All notifications in Flow are user generated, meaning that a teammate has to change something in a task you’re following for you to be notified of anything. As such, we’ve hidden the “My Updates” section of Home so you can now use My Tasks to structure your day.

- Assignees/Followers
- In Flow Solo, it is assumed that the sole member of the organization is the primary assignee on all tasks (and that you won’t have any task followers) and hides the ability to edit or filter by assignee or followers. If you ever switch from a Solo plan to a Team plan, those tasks that you created in the Solo environment will default assign to you.

- Teammate task/calendar views
- With no teammates in sight, we’ve simplified the sidebar so that the views you see will only be relevant to your own tasks. That means you won’t see features like the Teammates selector in Tasks and Calendars, “Delegated” or “Following” views in Tasks, or the Team Workload view in Calendars. We’ve also hidden the Status feature, since that too is used to communicate your availability to teammates.
Can I switch to a Solo plan from a Team plan?
At the moment, we don't support this type of downgrade. But if you're excited to try the Solo plan, one option would be to export your projects in your existing Team organization and import them in a new Solo organization.
Can I switch to a team plan if I outgrow Solo?
Absolutely. It’s as simple as going to your subscription settings and selecting the plan that suits you best. Just be sure to change the share settings on any projects that you want to remain private before inviting your new teammates.
How much does the Solo plan cost?
Flow Solo costs either $2.99/month if you pay annually, or $4.99/month if you pay monthly. Please note that you’ll only be able to see and select it as an option in your billing settings if you’re the sole member of your organization.
